A few words about Gaz Métro

Gaz Métro is the major natural gas distributor in Québec. This business for over 50 years, it is growing. Its gas network and its activities continue to expand and diversify.

In Quebec, Gaz Métro serves about 180,000 customers, including 118,900 residential customers distributed on its extensive gas network.

Since the relaunch of the development of new residential construction in 1998, Gaz Métro serves over 250 residential projects, reflecting the growing demand for a better informed customers about the advantages of natural gas and demanding in regard to comfort and quality of life.

In many control points are distributed over the entire gas network. This allows for real-time playback data

the temperature of the gas, its pressure and flow. These 

valuable information to manage the network and ensure safe and efficient operation.

Gaz Métro is responsible for the connection of dwellings to the gas system and the natural gas meter installation.

Installation of natural gas meters

There are four options for installing natural gas meters. The following illustrations show each option. Fact: it is no longer necessary to read firsthand the counters to know the natural gas consumption of a client. Indeed, radiometry allows playback of remote meter, regardless of the selected installation option. A specialized vehicle for radiometry has to circulate near the building to capture consumer data.
